Canadian Art Commissions by Pamela Buttazzoni Fine Art
A custom artwork is more than a painting — it is a deeply personal story brought to life through colour, texture, movement, and emotion. My Canadian art commissions are created for collectors who want something meaningful, original, and truly connected to their life, home, family, memories, or personal journey.
Whether you are looking for a statement piece for your home, a meaningful gift, a tribute to a loved one, a painting inspired by a special place, or artwork that reflects your personality, commissioning a piece allows you to be part of the creative process from the beginning. Instead of choosing from artwork that already exists, you have the opportunity to help shape something that is created especially for you.
As a Canadian artist, I create original mixed media and oil paintings with a focus on emotion, depth, atmosphere, and expressive beauty. Each commission is approached with care, intention, and respect for the story behind it. My goal is not simply to reproduce an image, but to create a piece of fine art that feels alive, meaningful, and timeless.
Why Choose Canadian Art Commissions?
Choosing Canadian art commissions gives you the opportunity to own artwork that is personal, original, and locally connected. A commissioned painting can reflect your home, your family, your favourite landscape, your beloved pet, a powerful memory, or a feeling you want to carry into your space every day.
Unlike mass-produced décor, a custom painting is made specifically for you. It holds emotional value, artistic value, and often becomes a piece that is treasured for years. Many collectors choose commissions because they want artwork that cannot be found anywhere else — a painting that belongs to their story alone.
Commissioned artwork can also be designed with your space in mind. This means the size, mood, colour palette, and overall feeling of the painting can be considered in relation to your home, office, or special location. Whether you need a bold focal point above a fireplace, a peaceful piece for a bedroom, or a meaningful work for a family room, a commission allows the artwork to feel intentional and beautifully placed.
The Benefits of Having a Commission Completed
One of the greatest benefits of commissioning original art is the personal connection you have to the finished piece. When a painting is created from your story, your inspiration, or your vision, it carries a different kind of energy. It becomes more than something beautiful on the wall — it becomes a conversation piece, a memory holder, and a reflection of something important to you.
A custom commission also allows you to invest in artwork that is uniquely yours. No one else will have the same original painting. It is one-of-a-kind, created by hand, with layers of thought, process, and artistic interpretation. For collectors, this exclusivity is part of what makes commissioned fine art so special.
Another benefit is emotional impact. Art has the power to change the feeling of a room. The right painting can bring warmth, calm, drama, joy, elegance, or inspiration into a space. When you commission a piece, you can request artwork that supports the atmosphere you want to create. Whether you are drawn to soft, peaceful tones or bold expressive energy, the finished work can be designed to complement both your style and your emotional connection to the subject.
Commissions also make unforgettable gifts. A custom painting can mark a wedding, anniversary, retirement, memorial, new home, milestone birthday, or family celebration. It shows thought, care, and effort in a way that few gifts can. Because it is created specifically for the recipient, it becomes something deeply personal and lasting.
A Collaborative Fine Art Experience
The commission process is a collaboration. We begin with your ideas, references, preferred size, colour direction, and the feeling you want the artwork to express. From there, I interpret your vision through my own artistic style, creating a piece that balances your inspiration with the expressive quality of fine art.
My commissions are available in mixed media finished with oil on canvas. This allows for richness, depth, and beautiful layered texture. Each piece is created carefully over time, with attention to composition, movement, colour, and emotional presence. Depending on the size and complexity of the artwork, a commission can take 1 to 6 months to complete. This is not a rushed process — it is an artful experience from beginning to end.
A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required before work begins. Pricing is based on size at $1 per square inch, allowing collectors to choose a scale that works for their space and budget.
Canadian Art Commissions Created With Meaning
When you choose Canadian art commissions, you are choosing more than custom artwork. You are choosing a piece created with intention, care, and personal meaning. You are supporting a Canadian artist while receiving an original painting designed specifically for your life and space.
A commissioned artwork becomes part of your story. It can honour where you have been, celebrate who you love, capture the beauty of a place, or bring a feeling into your home that words cannot fully express.
If you are looking for original Canadian artwork that is personal, expressive, and created just for you, a custom commission may be the perfect way to begin.

Commissioning original artwork is also a meaningful way of supporting Canadian artists and contributing to the continued growth of Canadian contemporary art. Canada has a rich visual arts culture, from emerging artists to nationally recognized collections, and choosing a custom painting allows collectors to become part of that creative landscape. As a collector, you are not only purchasing a beautiful original artwork — you are investing in creativity, craftsmanship, and the lasting value of handmade Canadian fine art.
